Keep checking back for updates on 2019's Eve of Tour event!
Last year saw a huge celebration to celebrate the start of the Tour de Yorkshire at Millennium Square in Leeds as part of The Village.
The Eve of Tour show, which is a free event and open to the public, took place on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 when stars of the cycling world such as 2017 Champion Serge Pauwels, Mark Cavendish and Greg Van Avermaet were on stage in Millennium Square alongside race organisers Sir Gary Verity and Christian Prudhomme.
Legendary Yorkshire DJ and BBC Radio Leeds presenter Stephanie Hirst, Leeds’ band The Dunwells and the West Yorkshire Rock Choir entertained the crowds while cycling fans got up close to their racing heroes.
As well as celebrating the world’s best current cycling talent the Tour de Yorkshire always recognises the contribution of trailblazing riders who have helped the sport become as popular as it is now. Yorkshire cycling legends Brian Robinson, Denise Burton-Cole and Barry Hoban also appeared on stage to rapturous applause as Tour de Yorkshire ambassadors.
